Tiffany Lawrence-Bell |
|
Tiffany C Lawrence-Bell is a Senior from Mt. Vernon, NY, majoring in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. She plans on obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in May 2010 and to continue her education in Clinical psychology.
Tiffany’s research interests include the neurodevelopmental risk factors in at-risk community populations with emphasis on Emotional/ Externalizing Disorders in children such as ADD/ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, ODD and Conduct Disorder. Tiffany would like to conduct research to enhance interventions, for both families and surrounding communities, to aid in the development of a “normal” lifestyle.
In her leisure time, Tiffany likes to appreciate the arts through photography and music. She also enjoys volunteering at local soup kitchens, head start programs and hospitals. She believes that change comes with the commitment and involvement of members in a community. With positive participation and pro-active individuals, a better future can be implemented for the youth of tomorrow. |

Alexandra Zimpfer |
|
Alexandra Zimpfer is a senior working on a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biological and Evolutionary Psychology. She also is obtaining a minor in Anthropology. She previously worked in a social psychology lab at Penn State University which explored the connection between positive and negative feedback and information processing. She also works at Community Services Group in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; a human services organization specializing in mental illness and mental retardation. She aspires to get her Master’s degree in counseling social work, specializing in crisis intervention. In her free time, she enjoys watching football, playing water polo, and spending time with friends, family and her two Bassett hounds, Cleo and Lola.

Jillian Meyers |
|
Jillian Meyers is a junior majoring in Psychology. She aspires to go to law school in or near New York City after graduation and pursue a career in non-profit law, with interests in family and educational law. She was nominated for Junior Gate Admission to the Schreyer Honors College. She is very involved with Penn State’s Dance Marathon, the largest student run philanthropy in the country, raising money to help kids with cancer. She was co-THON Chair for Business and Society house for THON 2008. She was also Fundraising Chair for her OPPerations committee for THON 2008 and is Fundraising Chair for her OPPerations committee for THON 2009. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, friends, and boyfriend. |

Katelin Yarnell |
|
Kate Yarnell is a junior majoring in psychology with a minor in crime, law and justice. Her interests in criminal and clinical psychology were sparked in high school, along with a desire to help individuals with severe psychological problems. While working as a research assistant in the Child Attention and Learning Lab since March of 2008, Kate’s focus has expanded to include child psychology as well. As a Penn State local, Kate is eager to leave the area and pursue graduate study in either clinical or forensic psychology after graduation. In her limited free time, Kate enjoys traveling, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. |

Lauren Weiss |
|
Lauren Weiss is a junior at Penn State studying Psychology with a Neuroscience option and Biology. Her career goal is to become a clinical Neuropsychologist or possibly a Physician’s Assistant, hopefully specializing in pediatric care. She has been honored with Dean’s list since 2006 and is a former recipient of the TOPPS Excellence in Psychology Award. She is a member of Psi Chi, Atlas, THON, and Morale. Lauren loves chocolate, kids, and learning about the brain. She’s from Bensalem, Pennsylvania and has a 5 year old sister, a 10 month old God son, and lots of cousins. In her free time, she referees soccer and loves to dance. She can lick her elbow (apparently it’s not impossible!). She is also learning how to play tennis and her favorite color is yellow. |

Karen McInnis is a senior majoring in Psychology. She is interested in the way that Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and other psychological comorbidities affect academic achievement as well as parent-child interactions in families with children who have disruptive behavioral disorders.
She presented an independent research project at the Annual Conference for the Associate for Psychological Science in May 2008. She also won a Phi Kappa Phi Award for Excellence for Juniors in School and Behavioral Science at the Undergraduate Research Exhibition in April 2008.
She loves being a Resident Assistant on campus and helping to lead the Penn State Student United Way. She also loves to crochet and watch “Jon and Kate Plus 8”. |
